Description
Tautologic plays perfectly normal music for slightly odd people. NPR and Rolling Stone critic Jim DeRogatis calls their music "an impressively ambitious example of virtuosic musicianship and deft arrangements navigating myriad sounds and styles without ever losing that essential melodic thread or propulsive rock drive."

A YouTube playlist of live performances by Tautologic, indicative of our repertoire in performance.
Wheels Fall Off and Re:Psychle are Tautologic's two most recently released recordings, representing the culmination of one period of creative work and a transition to the next phase. Musically and lyrically, they represent different aspects of our oeuvre, which is accessible at times and more challenging at others. Our next album is in pre-production, and should continue our steady progress towards both greater audience accessibility and musical sophistication.
History
Tautologic is in its third decade (plus or minus a hiatus or two) of making “perfectly normal music for slightly odd people.” The band has released 3 albums and an EP to critical raves, receiving airplay on several hundred college radio programs throughout the US, Canada, and Europe.
Jim DeRogatis of NPR and Rolling Stone describes Tautologic's music as "an impressively ambitious example of virtuosic musicianship and deft arrangements navigating myriad sounds and styles without ever losing that essential melodic thread or propulsive rock drive."
Artistic Vision
I am endlessly fascinated by the differences and commonalities between the ways in which people express themselves through music. My musical explorations have led me to perform
repertoire in traditions like classical, rock, bluegrass, Cajun, zydeco, Irish, Scottish, soul,
funk, R&B, jazz, blues, etc.
As bandleader and primary songwriter of Tautologic, I use what I have learned to create
original pieces of music that reflect both their specific inspiration and an aesthetic
informed by my growing body of musical knowledge.
