Description
T. Daniel Productions nfp is a theatre company that continues exploring and challenging the artistic mediums of Theatre and Mime, using as its base the human expression and human condition while not depending upon the spoken word. From its extensive dramatic studies of Theatre, Physical Theatre and Mime to full-stage plays and pantomimes to live musical theatre ensembles and productions, T. Daniel Productions continues its mission to take its audiences on incredible journeys full of intrigue, comedy and enchantment. T. Daniel Productions expresses itself in this statement: "What the Art of Mime should be."
Work Sample
3 videos from 2010 to 2016: Magical night, Boeuf sur le toit, The Bench
We create works from small dramatic studies, like The Bench, which is part of the complete productions "Benches". "Le Boeuf sur le toit" is a company work based on the story by Jean Cocteau and Darius Milhaud. "Magical Night" is a new pantomime written to Kurt Weill's first musical theatre. These illustrate our different approaches to various performances from small intimate performance to larger work with live music.
History
T. Daniel Productions was formed in 2002 to foster the image of Mime by creating and performing Mime Plays and performances with Classical Music. Founded on the success of T. Daniel and Laurie Willets, T. Daniel Productions' goal is to create artistic projects that illustrate the great variety that Mime has to offer both on the stage and in the concert hall from small theatre space to large theatres to the concert hall.
TDP has always performed Mime at the highest caliber possible. Whether with innovative stage productions such as "Fantasmia" or "Merlin & The Color Of Magic"; or with symphonies, presenting Mime in a very artistic manner. This has allowed TDP to tour to China, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, France, Turkey, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, Iran and North America to name a few place. TDP has performed works with orchestras in Hong Kong, Singapore, France and the USA, including "L'Histoire du soldat" with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the first mime company to rewrite & choreograph "Le Boeuf sur le Toit" by Jean Cocteau and Darius Milhaud and the first Mime company to write a new mime play to Kirk Weill's "Zaubernacht" with the Chicago Symphony for the American Premiere.
Artistic Vision
We are passionate about Mime as a performing art and work hard to create Mime as an emotional art expressing a multitude of ideas and stories that touch the emotions of an audience. We want to create drama that evokes wonder in the audience by challenging the mind and by pleasing the eye. In our creations on stage, and with orchestras, we work to take the audience on a visual journey beyond where they have been and take Mime beyond where others have taken the art.
