Description
The Still Inspired dance company features Chicago visual artists, serving as the inspiration for new collaborative dance pieces created by choreographers, dancers & technicians. The production features four new dance pieces by four Chicago choreographers in collaboration with an annual presenting visual artist. In this format, the visual artist presents four of their works to the audience. Still Inspired presents visual artwork using high-resolution projections of each piece. Embracing transparency, the curated performance offers audience members a glimpse into the creative process "“ a jumping-off point from which viewers are challenged to form their own interpretations. The experience ultimately reveals our shared humanity while celebrating our differences. Exposing our process and inspiration through artist talks offers a unique experience, expanding the viewer's knowledge on how art serves as a vehicle of inspiration. Our production is an educational experience for our audience & cast. With a target audience of patrons from all back rounds ranging in age from 20-70, our hope is that our collaborative process forces us all to ask more questions & explore the inspiration of other human beings outside of ourselves. We've worked with a variety of diverse artists in past & present seasons, ensuring equal opportunity to our artistic community while expanding our knowledge of each-others differing experiences through our artistic process.
