The MLK Convergence Project is a giant Social commentary. I am indebted to those whom have struggled before me as musicians, women, and human beings.I am concerned for community and personal well-being and hope to engage my audiences when they listen to feel community and hope.

History

Having performed and toured with Joe Henderson, Nancy Wilson, Roy Hargrove and Stan Getz, bassist Marlene Rosenberg has a background of performing with the jazz icons. Ms. Rosenberg's festival credits include the Mt. Fuji Festival (Tokyo), The North Sea Festival (Rotterdam, Holland), the Kristianstad-Ahus Festival (Sweden)etc. "One of Jazz, Bass, and Music world's treasures! There is a great bass tone, great swing, and lovely fire in everything that Marlene does."

Artistic Vision

My artistic visions are evolving. Usually, I am concerned with social uplifting and change for a better community. I am also interested in emotions and mental health.The various feelings and experiences I feel and we as human beings experience, I try to translate through the compositions I compose and the moods I try to set in performances. I love for the audience to enjoy themselves and ride along with our various musical adventures.

Programs for Specific Audience(s) Expertise

I have performed for a range of audiences from Seniors, to children. Mostly my work has been for festival audiences, university, high school, and middle school groups.I also have experience doing workshops, clinics for schools, business(think musical or office teamwork clinic),and residencies.

Traditional Folk/Ethnic Artform Statement

Most of my music is what is being called "Jazz". I do like to do multidisciplinary work with visual artists, dancers, photographers and projected imagery.I love to engage the audience in hopes they leave feeling like they have been involved viscerally and even have had thought provoking ideas.
