As the largest fully-professional orchestra in central Illinois, the ISO is a vital part of the cultural fabric, a key educational partner and a valued community member in the region. It celebrates symphony, chamber and pops music with nine concerts per season and dozens of intimate chamber concerts, plus acclaimed in-class and on-line education programs.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the ISO continued its fundamental mission of providing music to audiences, even if the audiences weren't able to attend concert halls. The Sundays at Six Series is the best representation of the dedication to those efforts.
History
The Illinois Symphony Orchestra has presented symphony and chamber music to central Illinois audiences since 1993. It is the largest fully-professional orchestra in the region and attracts more than 35,000 audience members each season.
Artistic Vision
The mission of the ISO is to inspire audiences through live orchestra programs and performances and aims to be the premier regional orchestral in Illinois.
