https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BA_JhgrXTCE&feature=youtu.be - Orland Park Library jazz concert, Sunday June 23, 2018, 7:47. This was the first of two and I know there would have been a third concert this year, had Covid-19 not entered the picture. This was an hour long concert, here is a snippet with an introduction for a cable news program. Please visit youtube.com for more samples! Enter my name "Ava Logan" into the search. I have performed all over Chicago, nationally and internationally! Thank you for your consideration!
My work sample relates to my body of work as a jazz (and cabaret) artist. Music of the Great American Songbook and others, vocals and instruments, provide entertainment and education to audience members.
History
I began my journey performing in high school theater (i.e., lead role in senior play!). In college I sang in women's a cappella groups, including being a founding member of Yale's senior women's a cappella group Whim 'n' Rhythm. (This group was a counter to the senior male a cappella group Yale Whiffenpoofs) After moving to Chicago in 1993, began singing jazz and R&B, from small ensembles to 18 piece big bands! I have sung in premier jazz and other venues throughout Chicago, also nationally and internationally, Russia (2 tours), France, Italy. I have also performed portraying 2 of my idols, Ella Fitzgerald and Nancy Wilson in professional performances at the Black Ensemble Theater in Chicago. Also in Chicago, I am a member and have performed on many occasions, in many different venues with the Chicago Cabaret Professionals.
