Hi, it's Aasne and Jerry! We are The After School Special,  an acoustic duo based in central Illinois. We've been playing music together for the last 3 years.  We love to play an extremely wide variety of music, including our own songs from our debut album "Last of the Curlews"

This is our debut album from 2021, Last of the Curlews, featuring 9 original songs and 1 cover. Aprox 35-40 minutes total.

From the local Springfield CAMP program, our section is from 47min-61min of the program. Produced in 2021, a local showcase of Art, Music, and Poetry.

Our album is our leap from being strictly performers to creators. It reflects our willingness to take risks and push ourselves to grow as artists.

History

We formed as a musical duo in 2019, performing cover music around central Illinois. During the COVID lockdowns of 2020 we began writing our own music, which became our first album in 2021.   We continue to play out across central Illinois and are in the process of recording our second studio album due to release this summer.

Artistic Vision

Bringing our music to the world is important for us, but we still thoroughly love playing the music that inspires us.  Most importantly we strive for the audience to enjoy the time they spend with us.
