A vibrant performer, Emily is known for her 'not-to-be-missed comedic timing' and "deep connection with audiences '. Her one-woman show, 'Swipe Left', was featured in the 2020 Chicago Cabaret Week Festival. Emily's newest cabaret, "I Do, I Did, I'm DONE!', is a Featured Performer of the 2023 Chicago Cabaret Week, hosted by DCASE, the Illinois Arts Council, and the Chicago Cabaret Professionals. Other shows available for selection include 'Gershwin and Friends', 'Broadway Baby: A Broadway Review', 'Forbidden Lieder: Forgotten Art Songs', 'Romance: A Collection of French Love Songs', and 'What A Character: Comedic Songs You Know and Love'. Personalized musical programs are available upon request and can vary between 20-90 minutes in length.
Work Sample
This is a performance of Papagena's duet, presented at Lincoln Park Presbyterian Church in April of 2020 as a fundraising concert for a local food bank (start at 5:08). I perform a variety of concerts featuring short comedic duets and solos from musical theater, opera and operettas alongside my husband, Vincent Dore, who is also featured here. We are able to tailor programs in both selections and length (anywhere from 20-90 minutes) according to your individual desires. We have successfully performed this program in front of audiences both young and old. From Broadway show tunes to classical selections, we are happy to accommodate your audience's needs!

I have over ten years' of experience performing jazz, country, pop and rock, musical theatre, classical music, sacred music, Gospel, contemporary art song, opera and operetta. As a Chicago-based producer, I am on the cutting edge of current musical trends and developments. My background of growing up in a rural farming town allows me to uniquely understand audiences' needs, wants and desires throughout the State. Described as a "˜gifted singer with an endearing voice', Emily Cox is a Chicagoland singer who has been seen across the country across genres. In 2019, Emily performed two roles in the world-premiere of Imogen, a new nonbinary operatic work by composer Elizabeth Rudolph. Emily then worked with the Curious Theatre Branch on developing their electronic operatic work, Open Wide. The production was premiered in conjunction with the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs (DCASE), as well as the 2019 Electro-Acoustic Theatre Symposium (EATS) Festival. A vibrant cabaret performer, Emily is known for her 'not-to-be-missed comedic timing' and "deep connection with audiences' '. Her one-woman show, 'Swipe Left', was featured in the 2020 Chicago Cabaret Week Festival. Emily's newest cabaret, "I Do, I Did, I'm DONE!', is a Featured Performer of the 2023 Chicago Cabaret Week, hosted by DCASE, the Illinois Arts Council, and the Chicago Cabaret Professionals. Emily currently writes, produces and directs new musical works throughout Chicago with her production company, Cox Productions, LLC. She has served as Managing Director to /kor/ productions in Chicago since 2020. She is a proud member of the Chicago Cabaret Professionals, the Musicians Club of Women, and the Illinois Theatre Alliance.
Artistic Vision
I believe that musical entertainment should be available and accessible to audiences everywhere, regardless of age, gender, religion, education, geographical location, or socio-economic levels. I tailor my events to include nontraditional venues, settings and translations to encourage creative outreach and community engagement. I have worked as a producer for the past ten years to develop multiple new works and musical events across the Chicagoland region, and I specialize in social media marketing to attract new audiences. I hope to be able to bring new music and events to audiences across the nation throughout my lifetime.
